Guide to efficiently reduce cellulite
Well it does seem that I always try to find the most effective anti cellulite remedies and anti cellulite treatments. For me personally, diet and exercise pretty much do the trick but for others it takes a lot more than that. That's why I'm always doing research on what is a myth about fighting cellulite and what really does do the trick.
Although I'm not saying that cellulite creams and cellulite devices and treatments are ineffective, what I can tell you is that they do not deliver long-term results. I've even heard about anti cellulite shoes. Yes you've read correctly! I'm thinking that they only make you walk funny and that's just about it.
I'm probably going to write a piece on all sorts of stupid inventions that claim to reduce or eliminate cellulite.
- So, what actually does work on reducing cellulite?
Although I do mention from time to time that there are some anti cellulite ways that can cure cellulite, they usually only work on reducing it. Unfortunately, if you suffer from cellulite because of genetics and hormones, cellulite remedies are not going to cut it... cut the cellulite out of your life, that is :) What they can do is make it less visible, but some cellulite marks are going to still be there, probably just for you to see and be bothered by.
Basic rules to reduce cellulite
There are three basic rules to fight cellulite and these I swear by!
-
lose weight, body fat weight, that is. Along with the extra pounds of fat on the cellulite affected areas comes a more pronounced look of the cottage cheese look. Losing body fat is going to imply taking some of the pressure off the surrounding tissue, which will most likely reduce the severity of the skin issue.
-
make sure that your connective tissues is healthy and that the collagen levels are adequate. The weaker and stiffer these tissues are, and the looser the skin is, the more prominent cellulite becomes. By improving the health and elasticity of these tissues, you can reduce the visibility of the cellulite.
-
improve blood and lymph circulation. Poor circulation and lymph drainage (lymph is a substance your body uses to dispose of waste) can lead to inflammation and swelling, which directly aggravates the problem, and it also inhibits the reparation of the connective tissues and collagen that play vital roles in the appearance of the skin.
How to reduce cellulite according to science?
Ok, so these are the goals, what can you do to attain them? Will it mean spending hours on applying anti cellulite lotions and anti cellulite creams? Will it cost you tons of money on anti cellulite treatments, devices or anti cellulite pills and supplements? Or will it actually take you to the doctor's office to spend o fortune on anti cellulite procedures?
Fortunately, it's not going to be the case.
1. Reduce cellulite with weight training
As I've mentioned earlier, I think this is one of the best ways to reduce cellulite and for me it actually does work wonders. It also boosts my energy levels and improves my mood. Maybe you've read "The Cellulite Solution". If not, Dr. Murad, the author of the book tells us that the more frequently we move blood and lymph around in the affected areas, the more we can reduce the visibility of cellulite.
Now you're probably thinking how exactly you can stimulate blood flow and lymph movement and drainage? Well, of course the answer isn't written in wind, the answer to this one is clear: lifting weights! So try to go heavy on exercises like squats, lunges, deadlifts.
Another cellulite-related benefit of weightlifting is that as your muscles grow, every area of your body naturally tightens, giving you a smoother, fuller look (and avoiding the “skinny fat” physique that's ok looking, but not as hot as toned!).
Search through the anti cellulite exercises section.
2. Include fatty acids in your anti cellulite diet
Omega-3 is full of benefits as you've probably read on the internet, but the bad news is that most people get primarily omega-6 fatty acids from their diet. The omega-6 fatty acids are the ones that cause inflammation and swelling and promote the development of all sorts of affections like cancer, cardiovascular disease or autoimmune diseases.
Among the many benefits of omega-3 the stimulation of collagen production is one of them. Also, omega-3 reduces inflammation, which is clearly going to help with reducing cellulite.
Fish oil is one of the most effective supplements and I've also read that it helps reduce cravings and appetite so it's just awesome.
3. The anti cellulite fat burning diet
You've probably seen a lot of skinny girls with cellulite so it's pretty clear that losing body fat isn't the only thing that matters in terms of getting rid of cellulite. Weight does make a difference in how much cellulite you have though.
Losing some extra pounds and getting in a fit shape is going to help you with reducing cellulite.
Of course, there are some girls without any excess pounds that carry some stubborn fat, the exact fat that keeps on building up that damn cellulite. Reducing fat in stubborn areas is going to help you alleviate cellulite.
4. Supplements to burn fat and reduce cellulite
I'm not the one to hesitate to use supplements after reading some good scientific reviews on them. I do believe that they can help you in your quest to live a healthier life and improve that way your body works, so if there are some anti cellulite pills, then I am going to recommend them.
The two anti cellulite supplements that I recommend are horse chestnut and gotu kola.
The first one, horse chestnut, is a seed that apparently improves circulation and has anti-inflammatory and anti-swelling properties.
The second anti cellulite supplement, gotu kola, increases collagen production and improves blood circulation, as some research has shown.
